Edit news items, features and columns written by staff or contributors, including checking for factual accuracy, making certain copy conforms with Company editorial policy and checking all details of editorial style for consistency with the relevant publication style manual.
Write articles on the Chemicals Department and projects, often consulting with subject matter specialists.
Write special diversified stories, conduct interviews and research subject matter, as necessary, to develop information.
Clear articles for publication by submitting draft to concerned members of management, up to and including the Chairman of the Board.
Select photographs to accompany news stories and features, considering possible government and public objection to pictures; write captions.
Originate, update/edit booklets and brochures as required. These include booklets on the Chemicals industry, benefits pamphlets, recruitment brochures, training booklets, etc., involving consulting references and other sources for authenticity and accuracy.
Write/edit material used by all departments in written and audiovisual productions intended for presentation or distribution both within and outside the Saudi Aramco community. This includes editing for style and compliance with Company policies on sensitive issues.
Keep informed of Company’s Chemicals’ activity through personal contacts, so they can initiate news stories.
Supervise maintenance of subject index files of clippings and articles; maintain file of background information and biographical data on employees.
