Wireless Generation is building a next generation data store and web service infrastructure that will empower a new ecosystem of innovative, data-driven, education-focused applications. We seek a Technical Writer to write internal and end-user documentation that engages educators, gives developers the information to build and understand complex data and web service-driven systems, and provides IT professionals the necessary context to integrate with and develop against those systems. The role will be responsible for writing documentation that is more developer-facing at the beginning. Other types of end-user documentation may be required as the project progresses.
Responsibilities of the Technical Writer:
Creating API documentation and data dictionaries
Working with XML-editing tools within a development environment
Writing for a developer audience as well as an end-user audience
Writing, formatting, and editing technical documentation and Wiki pages to promote clarity, accuracy, and Wireless Generation style
Creating online help and working with developers and quality assurance to ensure correct, proper integration
Managing each documents’ or help projects’ life cycle to maintain and update multiple documentation branches as necessary
