The Senior Technical Writer will design and produce technical documentation for a highly configurable platform software product in a collaborative environment employing Agile development methodologies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
Assist in the creation of documentation project plans.
Create, maintain and review software product documentation.
Assist in the development of style guides and content standards.
Provide, record and manage “request for proposal” engineering responses.
Collaborate with training department to produce technical content that will be utilized as a foundation and/or reference for training materials.
Produce highly useable technical end user, designer, and administrator product documentation that maximize the ability of the user to understand and use the product.
Develop a deep knowledge of the products and write technical content to an appropriate level of detail.
Collaborate effectively with globally-distributed product teams to gather information, get technical review of content drafts, etc.
Negotiate deliverables when necessary to meet product release schedules.
Work with the manager and team to develop documentation processes and guidelines.
Ensure delivery of quality documentation by following review and delivery processes and procedures.
Ensure proper storage and archiving of documentation by following version control policies and procedures.
Deliver documentation on schedule with a high degree of quality.
