Publishing company/membership organization is seeking freelance writers to create press releases and biographical content for an international customer base. Writers will utilize a content management system (CMS) to retrieve information for generating content. Applicants should be comfortable with high-volume workload and possess balanced creative and technical writing skills.
Tasks:
• Writing member press releases (approximately 250 words in length) utilizing biographical information and external resources
• Fact-checking member information/schooling/affiliations
• Conferring with on-site managerial staff to receive directives and submit assignments
• Generating timely, accurate and informative content for paying customer base
Requirements/desired qualifications/experience:
• Collegiate degree in journalism, English, marketing or similar concentration
• Working knowledge of AP style
• Strong proofreading skills
• Familiarity with biographical writing
• Experience in writing press releases
• Ability to work quickly and within deadlines
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word
• Computer proficiency is a must
• Must have own computer, Internet access and Microsoft Word program
