A Senior Editor at Quarasan is responsible for writing, rewriting, and editing across multiple projects in a deadline-driven team environment. Managing projects, this editor will work independently, while collaborating with lead editorial managers and clients to develop prototypes. In addition, the Senior Editor will collaborate with the Image team on art specs and photo choices. As needed the Senior Editor will develop and maintain project style sheets and assign TOC’s smaller jobs. This position is an exciting and rewarding job which ensures quality control at all stages of textbook development.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in English or teaching
Minimum five years of publishing experience, preferably in educational publishing; desirable to have at least two years teaching experience (K-12 experience is a huge plus!)
Minimum three years experience leading/supervising a team of internal or external resources
Ability to write original manuscript and evaluate manuscript. Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of educational pedagogy and products in one or more curriculum areas
